How to find

  • Shael Runes may be among the extra Runes that the Countess drops. Just on Hell or Nightmare difficulty.
  • One of the rewards of the Hellforge’s Nightmare difficulty is a chance of 1 to 11 drops of a Shael Rune.

Modifiers & Effects

Weapons

  • 20% Increased Attack Speed

Armor, Helms & Shields

  • 20% Faster Hit Recovery (Armor)
  • 20% Faster Block Rate (Shields)

Effects

  • Unless it was previously higher, an item socketed with a Shael Rune raises the item’s level requirement to 29.

  • One Dol Rune can be created by transmuting three Shael Runes and one Chipped Ruby.
  • To upgrade the base armor type of unique armor to its exceptional variant, you can transmute basic unique armor, a Tal rune, a Shael rune, and a Perfect Diamond.
  • The base armor type of normal set armor can be upgraded to its exceptional variant by transmuting a normal set armor, a Tal rune, a Shael rune, and a Perfect Diamond.
