How to find

  • Io Runes may be among the extra Runes that the Countess drops. Just on Hell or Nightmare difficulty.
  • One of the rewards of leveling up to Hellforge on Nightmare or Hell difficulty is a chance of 1 to 11 to drop an Io Rune.

Modifiers & Effects

Weapons

  • +10 To Vitality

Armor, Helms & Shields

  • +10 To Vitality

Effects

  • Unless it was previously higher, an item socketed with an Io Rune raises the item’s level requirement to 35.

  • One Lum rune can be created by transmuting three Io runes and a flaw in a topaz. (Only in ladder, open, or single-player modes.)
