An enemy’s resistance to your strikes rises by 0.80% with each attack you launch against it. This legendary gem may be leveled up to rank 150. The damage gain will rise by 0.01% with each upgrade, for a total of 2.30% per stack. The stacks multiply each other and each other’s stacks as well as all other damage bonuses. The secondary effect multiplies damage dealt to Act Bosses and Rift Guardians by 25%.
A stack of debuff that amplifies any damage you deal to that specific enemy is applied to the first enemy struck by a skill that has the potential to trigger Bane of the Stricken.
Bane of the Stricken enters an internal cooldown equal to “0.9/Skill APS” after dealing a debuff to an enemy, where “Skill” is the skill that was used to deal the debuff.
Only Whirlwind and all non-channeling skills follow the above rule; all other channeling skills cause Bane of the Stricken to have a longer cooldown than their attack rate would suggest.
Bane of the Stricken is typically only procable by skills with a proc coefficient, therefore stacking from pets and item procs are not possible. Nevertheless, there are exceptions to this strict rule.
When Normal foes and Elites exit combat, they lose all of their Bane of the Stricken stacks. Even in the event of your player death, Rift Guardians never lose stacks.

At higher Greater Rifts, this gem is the only way to kill a Rift Guardian. Almost all Solo Push builds and Rift Guardian Killers employ it to dispatch the Rift Guardian in a reasonable amount of time.

To obtain more Legendary Gems for leveling up, eliminate all Legendary Gems of the same name from your Equipment, Inventory, and Stash. This will cause the Rift Guardian in any Greater Rift to drop a new Rank 0 Gem.
