Steve Gameplay
One of the best characters, Steve is equipped with a powerful and adaptable toolbox. But his distinct advantages and disadvantages distinguish his playstyle from that of other well-rounded characters. Steve can effectively go in on his opponents, stick to them with a succession of punches, and constantly push them until they open up thanks to his diversity of movement options, stances, and pokes. Steve continues to be a fearsome foe on defense, employing a number of effective keep-out assaults and evasive maneuvers that make pinning him down extremely difficult. The abundance of very scary counter-hit skills that Steve possesses, which help both his attack and defense, may be his greatest strength. When confronted with the prospect of being propelled into a big combo by a rapid counterpunch, anyone would be hesitant to enter rooms or push buttons.
Despite his prowess, he has a number of flaws. Steve has several incredible counter-hit launchers, but he lacks many strong or viable regular hit launchers, thus if he wants to deliver significant damage, he must fish for a counter hit. Steve has strong close-range pressure, but he lacks strong lows, which substantially reduces his mixup ability.
