Auriel’s Abilities

Bestow Hope

Give Hope to a Hero who is an ally. They continue to do 30% damage to Heroes and 10% damage to non-Heroes while remaining close to Auriel. A single ally may only have Bestow Hope active at once.

Sacred Sweep

Sweep sacred power across the area, dealing opponents 40 damage and an additional 160 damage to those caught in the center.

Ray of Heaven

Consume the energy Auriel has saved and heal nearby allied Heroes for that amount.

Detainment Strike

Hit the first enemy Hero with 55 damage to knock them back. They take an extra 165 damage and are stunned for 1.25 seconds if they collide with terrain.

Crystal Aegis

Put a Hero who is an ally in stasis for two seconds. All opponents nearby will suffer 255 damage when Crystal Aegis expires.

Resurrect

For one second, channel on the ghost of a deceased ally. They are revived with 100% of their maximum Health at the scene of their death after a five second delay.

Auriel’s Gameplay

Aggressive ranged healer Auriel receives strength from her teammates.

The trait that defines Auriel is “Bestow Hope.” Making wise use of it gives Auriel ongoing fuel for her healing. While it is usually advisable to leave your trait on your best sustained-damage Ranged Assassin, there are instances when it is wise to switch to a different ally when they are about to battle and begin to expend a lot of Energy. For instance, a Gul’dan would typically provide a lot of Energy over time, whereas Jaina’s early effect will instantly fill your Energy to begin the fight.

Heroes who can consistently deal damage are preferable for Auriel since they allow her to keep her Energy. The good heroes are Fenix, Raynor, Gul’dan, and Valla. Auriel also links up with groups that wish to form close alliances due to the restricted area of impact of Ray of Heaven.
