Under this commander, cavalry forces are better protected. Troops gain 10 seconds of extra march speed after exiting combat.
Oblique Tactics (Passive Skill)
Belisarius’s troops deliver more damage when the target has less than half of their units left.
Bloodthristy Bucellarii Enhanced: Bucellarii
This commander gives cavalry units a 30% boost in defense. Troops’ march pace increases by 50% for ten seconds after exiting combat.
Background
A Byzantine general named Flavius Belisarius lived in the sixth century AD. He is frequently recognized as one of the Byzantine Empire’s best generals. One of the “last of the Romans,” or one of the last people to represent the ideals of the Roman Empire, is Belisarius. Flavius led imperial armies against the Sasanian empire (Persia), the Vandal kingdom of North Africa, which was advancing on Constantinople. Flavius was instrumental in Emperor Justinian’s effort to retake the Mediterranean region that had previously been under the sovereignty of the Western Roman Empire. At the age of 25, Flavius—who had previously served in Justinian’s bodyguard—came to the emperor’s notice and was awarded his first command. Although not much is known about Belisarius’s personal life, his actions were primarily motivated by two emotions: love for his wife Antonia and allegiance to the Emperor. Belisarius’ loyalty never wavered in the face of Justinian’s inconsistent treatment, and history will remember him as one of the most honorable people of Justinian’s time.
