Top 1: Yoshimitsu

Yoshimitsu
Yoshimitsu

Yoshimitsu is a character that is highly sophisticated. He possesses an extensive toolkit, as befits a ninja, with alternatives for every situation, but due to their unconventional and dangerous nature, using them effectively takes a lot of effort and experience. Yoshimitsu players must have a keen understanding of their characters, be inventive, and avoid following predictable patterns if they are to be successful. Yoshimitsu’s flash, a special weapon that parries any oncoming strike and gives him a launch punish, is one of his distinguishing abilities. With such a distinctive defensive strategy, there are a variety of opportunities to profit from reads and quick responses as well as to punish movements that are often safe.

Top 2: Paul

Paul
Paul

Paul is a great character with only a few small flaws and great qualities. Paul is good no matter what situation he is in because of his extensive toolbox. Approaching Paul is extremely risky because of some of his terrifying keep-out moves, which can result in a devastating combo with only one errant hit. He has tools at his disposal to chip away at opponents and punish misses despite the fact that his poking is generally subpar.

Paul is still a monstrous character while attacking, employing a variety of mix-ups, evasive maneuvers, and extremely menacing counter-hit launchers that render any effort at retaliation scary. Additionally, if Paul is able to push his opponent against the wall, their end is guaranteed. Paul can easily lock down his adversaries with the use of two potent homing moves. Once they are rooted to the wall, he has a number of difficult to handle mixups that can quickly tip the balance in his favor. This is especially true if Paul has access to his Rage Art cancel, which results in some of the game’s most devastating combinations.

Top 3: Feng

Feng
Feng

The archetypal hit-and-run figure is Feng. Feng more than makes up for his inferior combo damage and the fact that he doesn’t have a lot of reliable launch moves with his versatile toolset. When playing neutrally, Feng adopts a Kenpo backstep posture that enables him to entice opponents into missing while also changing up his approach and poking strategy. This forces opponents to remain alert in order to survive his offense. He also possesses some of the most evasive techniques in the game, occasionally slipping under opponents’ hold out moves with his Snake Dash strategy, along with Xiaoyu and Zafina. Feng is highly terrifying when near to his opponents, especially when they are backed up against a wall and combined with excellent pokes.

Top 4: Lee

Lee
Lee

The fact that Lee’s fighting method is simply referred to as “Martial Arts” suggests that he employs a synthesis of tactics from various other fighting philosophies.

Top 5: Steve

Steve
Steve

Steve is equipped with a strong and adaptable toolbox. But his distinct advantages and disadvantages distinguish his playstyle from that of other well-rounded characters. Steve can effectively go in on his opponents, stick to them with a succession of punches, and constantly push them until they open up thanks to his diversity of movement options, stances, and pokes. Steve continues to be a fearsome foe on defense, employing a number of effective keep-out assaults and evasive maneuvers that make pinning him down extremely difficult. The abundance of very scary counter-hit skills that Steve possesses, which help both his attack and defense, may be his greatest strength. When confronted with the prospect of being propelled into a big combo by a rapid counterpunch, anyone would be hesitant to enter rooms or push buttons.
