Story
Nosferatu is based on Vlad III, Archduke of Wallachia, who ruled what is now Romania between 1456 and 1462. The Ottoman Turks, who had seen 20,000 men rotting with spears stuck in front of Nosferatu’s castle, were terrified by the sight and ran away. Romanians see Nosferatu as a national hero, although most see him as a fictional bloodthirsty monster.
