In the level 7 Barracks, the Wizard is a ranged unit that can be unlocked. He can deal a lot of damage with his fireball or energy blasts, but he needs help because he has few hit points and is easily taken out by point defenses.
Strategy
Wizards can be useful in smaller groups, especially at lower levels. They are typically deployed in big groups for fire support or as a force multiplier (much like archers).
When wizards attack, they attack the nearest building without having a preference.
Offensive: Wizards have a strong damage output, making turret hit points ineffective against them when destroying defenses.
Defensive: Within a Clan Castle, wizards can be a little dangerous. Their speed prevents them from being easily enticed away, while their range enables them to attack from a distance or behind walls. They can eliminate weak, clustered units such as Barbarians and Archers at low levels thanks to their splash damage.
