In the Barracks, the Giant is the third unit that may be unlocked. Since the Giant targets defenses first, they are the perfect unit to use when you need to quickly eliminate defenses. However, they work best in big groups because of their modest attack damage.

Giants give defensive structures top priority above all other targets, and while defenses are still in place on the battlefield, they will avoid all other enemy buildings and soldiers.

Giants become like any other force with no favorite target once all defenses are destroyed.

Offensive: Use giants in groups because they are slow and have little DPS despite their large health. The Giants, however, are vulnerable to groupings of strong defenders. Giants can be employed as a cheap meat shield to let lesser THs work well together when larger troops with greater damage are deployed to take down structures and defenses.

Defensive: Because a level 4 Spring Trap can kill 16 housing spaces and Giants only take up 5, Giants can be particularly vulnerable to Spring Traps because of their predictable AI and the fact that they can eliminate 3 Giants at once. Take advantage of this by strategically placing defensive structures behind any gaps you leave in your walls, and then fill those gaps with one or more spring traps.
